The Saint Loup Research Institute is a non-profit association (French Law of 1901) formally founded in June 2022 in Saint Loup Lamairé (Deux-sèvres, near Poitiers, France), and whose aim is to stimulate research in a number of fields, particularly in relation to soils, agriculture, the environment, and higher education, all areas in which there is at the moment a critical need for new ideas and a new vision.

One of our activities consists of welcoming young researchers to Saint Loup for week-long “tutorials” in order to help them write publications in international journals, and to guide and support them in their first steps in the research world.

Another significant activity consists of organizing international workshops for specialists at the beautiful Château of Saint Loup Lamairé (pictured above). Five workshops have been organized so far, in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024, bringing to Saint Loup specialists from all over the world (over 20 countries). The aim in the future is to continue to organize such worshops and, if public donations and subsidies allow, to hire young researchers to create a permanent support team, to make tutorials entirely free of charge, and to provide fellowships to young workshop participants.
